Greater Kansas City Community Foundation Kaw Social at the Rock Island Bridge
Explore one of Kansas City's historical bridges that will soon become an entertainment district.



Between Armourdale, Kansas, and the West Bottoms in Kansas City, Missouri, hangs the Rock Island Bridge, built in 1905. After sitting unused for decades, America's first "destination bridge" will connect our community and visitors with the Kansas River by using the bridge as a public crossing and a lively entertainment district.

We invite you to join us for a relaxing private evening at the river, where we’ll enjoy the beautiful river views along with other activities:
• Looking Forward: Tour the Rock Island Bridge to learn about the future of the development
• Hear music playing from the bridge, eat barbecue and enjoy beverages
• Watch crew racing on the river and learn about one of Kansas City's boat and rowing clubs
• Reconnect with each other in-person!

This exclusive opportunity is reserved for donors who have funds at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. We encourage you to bring children, grandchildren or other members of the next generation to enjoy the impact of philanthropy in our community.

Please wear your tennis shoes, bring your own chairs and blankets, and plan to come and go as you please.

Where?
The Rock Island Bridge, which hangs over the Kansas River just west of Hy-Vee Arena, formerly known as Kemper Arena. 

We encourage you to register as soon as possible, so we can plan for an appropriate amount of food and drinks. We will provide additional information, including parking/entrance information, the tour schedule and additional learning materials, to registered attendees.
