Corporate Giving Network: Best Practices for Grantmaking

As charitable donors, we want to ensure that every dollar we give makes a difference and every grant helps nonprofits carry out their missions. But how do we know if our grants are effective?

Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) provides donors with smarter ways to approach both giving and leadership that enable transformational change. GEO’s core principles focus on building capacity; collaboration; flexible, reliable funding; learning and evaluation; strengthening relationships; and equitable philanthropy.

Join the Community Foundation's Vice President of Grantmaking and Inclusion Initiatives and GEO board member Denise St. Omer and corporate representatives to hear from GEO’s President and CEO Marcus Walton. Marcus will share observations about effective grantmaking practices and the critical value of applying a racial equity lens to those practices. Marcus and Denise will also discuss leaning into this moment to ensure that philanthropy can serve as a strengthening and unifying presence in our communities.

Date: Wednesday, September 30

Time: 9 to 10 a.m. Central

There is no cost to register, but please RSVP using the following form. Registered attendees will receive Zoom information one hour before the meeting.
